Soil amendments delivered

Bee Bayou DayBloomers is located in Richland Parish, Northeast Louisiana, in the area known as the North Louisiana Delta Country. Surrounded by areas of rolling piney woods, Richland Parish is a flat plain where huge acreage's of cotton, corn, beans and rice are grown. In 1975 Ray and I built our home on the edge of the Wilkerson family property. As young newlyweds we had no idea that we were building on top of waxy clay soil. Trees are about the only plant that will grow beneath the soil line here, so raised beds are needed to grow large healthy daylilies. It’s a back-breaking job to routinely amend the soil in the raised beds every 2 years. We use several different soil amendments, what ever is most available when we need it. Rice hulls, from a local rice dryer is our primary amendment. Large loads of a ground pine fine mix is routinely added and when available, horse manure. Routine soil amendment and supplemental watering, is the key to growing the size plants we like to achieve before shipment. Fertilizing...most of our plants receive two annual applications of any name brand of triple eight fertilizer.

I hope you enjoyed visiting our website and will come back often! i designed this webpage myself with
Homesteads Design Editor. Amazing how simple it is to do now, with about 5 years practice! i know it looks a little ''homemade'' but it gets the job done! ..... Nan
